Summary of Position Function

Conducts utilization review audits and ensures compliance with organization and regulatory requirements.

Education Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field and appropriate license or certification; or
  • Qualified Healthcare Professional (QHP) as defined by OMH/OASAS


  • Two years of direct service experience
  • Understanding of concepts of medically necessary documentation
  • Understanding of concepts of recovery and person-center planning
  • Ability to work as a High-Performing Team member with staff at all levels of responsibility in programs throughout the agency

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical record reviews for programs throughout the Agency
  • Execute reports based on audit findings, including development of improvement plans
  • Measure and monitor the quality of care against compliance standards and benchmarks established by Agency
  • Identify areas of strength and as well as areas that need improvement
  • Meaningfully participate in a high performing team of professionals
  • Assist in developing new documentation standards, training efforts and quality improvement projects


  • Ability to generate standard business letters, forms, contracts, proposals, presentations, etc.  Strong understanding of and ability to use internet search engines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail; excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Proficient in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Desktop Publishing, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience in using the Cerner/Anasazi electronic health record
  • Ability to operate office equipment
